CROWN (CRedit-to-OWN) is a rental program for tenants who can purchase their home after a 15-year rental period. The affordable homes are financed with Low Income Housing Tax Credits allocated by Utah Housing Corporation. CROWN allows renters who become homeowners to earn equity in the home while they rent. The 15 year rental period allows time for tenants to participate in home buyer education, build equity, save money and correct credit problems if necessary.
Specific income and rent restrictions may apply. Units are targeted at households at or below 60% of area median income for Iron County. Future tenants will also be screened based on previous landlord references, criminal background, work history and credit history.
The Nichols Landing project consists of 5 homes. All 5 homes are currently occupied. If you are interested in being added to the current waiting list applications are available at the office of the Cedar City Housing Authority located at 364 S 100 E.
